Anthony Forster works as a Senior Fishery Manager with the Victorian Fisheries Authority. An aquaculture graduate from the University of Tasmanian, Anthony managed one of Tasmania's first marine fish farms, growing ocean trout and Atlantic salmon for almost 10 years. He then worked for WA Fisheries as an Aquaculture Development Officer and later joined Victorian Fisheries. Anthony managed the Victorian Government’s aquaculture and inland recreational fisheries program with a focus on recovering threatened native fish and improving recreational fishing. He led the design and construction of the VFA’s native fish farm at Arcadia. Through angler engagement, habitat rehabilitation, fish stocking, and fishery regulation, he has helped recover ‘at risk’ native species including Macquarie perch, trout cod, Murray cod, golden perch, Australian bass, estuary perch and freshwater catfish in selected waters. Anthony is a keen recreational fisher and loves nothing better than throwing lures at snags hoping to connect to our iconic native fish.
