Dr David Moreno is a research fellow at the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies. With over 12 years of experience working with elasmobranch species, he has a broad range of research interest areas, including movement ecology, population dynamics, ecophysiology, and conservation. For the past 8 years he has used this multidisciplinary approach in his work with the endangered Maugean skate. More recently, his focus has been on the establishment of an ex-situ conservation program, including the application of novel biotechnology tools.
