Delegate Information

Registration desk – ASN Events

The Conference Registration Desk is located in the Rydges on Swanston Level 4.  The desk will be attended at all times during the conference, see hours below. Delegates should collect their name tag on arrival. Registration open hours are:

  • Sunday 7th October: 4:00pm – 8:00pm
  • Monday 8th October: 8:00am – 5:00pm
  • Tuesday 9th October: 8:00am – 5:00pm
  • Wednesday 10th October: 8:00am – 5:00pm
  • Thursday 11th October: 8:00am – 5:00pm

All conference related enquires should be directed to ASN Events staff at this desk. Accommodation queries should be directed to hotel reception desk.

Getting Around

Melbourne Tullamarine Airport – 20.7 kilometres, approximately 25 minutes’ driving time, taxi service available.

  • Sky Bus Services (Melbourne Tullamarine – Melbourne City) $18 one-way, $36 round-trip.
  • Departs Melbourne Airport – Melbourne, Southern Cross Station.

Southern Cross Train Station – 2.9km

Lincoln Square/Swanston St Tram Stop - 260 metres - Tram Lines: 1, 3/3a, 5, 6, 16, 64, 67 and 72

Parking

The Rydges offers secure under cover parking for $25.00 per day and is subject to availability.

On street: Available all around the hotel and 4 hr timed. Approximately $1.50 p/h and free from 6.30pm weeknights, 1.30pm Saturday and all-day Sunday

University Square Car park: The public car park is located behind the hotel off Bouverie Street and is $20.00 per day or $8.00 in the evening

Recycling your name badges and lanyards

If you do not wish to keep your name badge at the conclusion of the conference, please return it to the conference registration desk for recycling.

Annual general meeting

All society members are encouraged to attend the ASFB AGM. The ASFB AGM will be held before the break from 12:30 – 2:15 pm on Thursday 11th October in the Skyline Room.

Speaker preparation instructions

ASN staff will be able to assist presenters with loading their presentation. Speakers can contact ASN staff members at the registration desk during any breaks. Speakers are encouraged to load their presentations as soon as possible to avoid any last-minute rushes. The standard AV set up for all presentations will be data projection using MS PowerPoint. All presentations will be run from a PC.

Displaying your poster

You will be able to hang your poster from 6:00 pm on Sunday 7th October in the Skyline Foyer. Please affix your poster to the allocated board before 11:00 am on Wednesday 10th October ready for the poster viewing during the Wednesday evening Poster Session. Posters should be attached to the boards using the Velcro provided.  Please visit the conference registration desk if you require additional supplies.

Posters should be taken down no later than 5:00 pm on Thursday 11th October. Posters remaining after this time will be removed by conference staff.
